John wasn’t exactly nervous as he got ready for his match, he was an experienced wrestler. Still, everything about this felt bizarre. This entire experience had been surreal. From the initial description of GWA, John had been in some doubt. A league dedicated entirely to gay guys fighting? Sexual matches? He almost turned them away, thinking they were some cheap fly-by-night porn wrestling video company. Even now that he’d been convinced to sign and was on the island, it hardly seemed real.

When he arrived, John kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, but no footwear fell. Instead, management had been content to let John sit idle for almost a week. The island was huge, and felt very much like an empty cruise ship waiting to take on passengers. Apparently John was in the first wave of arrivals. He’d tried the pool, the beech, the shopping district, and of course the gym. He trained and kept his body in shape, but it this was essentially a paid vacation so far. That was all well and good, but John was hardly going to advance in this new league sitting unused like some mothballed old warship. He wanted a match, and he wanted it soon.

Fortunately, John’s wish had been answered. He had an opponent: Haru Fujiwara. Was curious if this guy was a known wrestler, and Google was hardly helpful. Haru was apparently a model. Or an MMA fighter. Or an industrial cattle rancher. The Google Translated Japanese articles weren’t clear, but John was reasonably sure that he was at least two out of three of those things. From Haru modeling pics, John was also certain the blue haired fighter was hot as fuck. All things considered, John was getting worried he’d been matched with some pretty rich boy playing at wrestling rather than some serious opponent.

Finally, the night of the match had come. He stood at the threshold of the arena as they called his name, dressed in black boots and rugged camouflaged themed trousers. The bright lights of the ring made his bare chest and chiseled abs glisten as he headed down the ramp. First he jogged, then he built to a spring as he jumped up onto the steal steps. He raced up, standing on the middle rope and thrusting his fist in the air for the audience, trying to build them up before the match began. With a grin, he climbed up and jumped from the top rope, landing with a thud in the ring as he waited for Haru. It felt truly excellent to be back under the lights of an arena again, and this was a huge and amazing crowd.

It was true, Haru's resume was a complete mess of half-baked careers and work experiences that were a testament to his easy-to-bore, fickle nature. He'd stuck it out in half a dozen industries before his current foray into pro-wrestling, but it was hardly his first try at a martial art. Some might look at that history as an unprofitable risk, but apparently the number-crunchers or whoever was in charge of decision-making clearly knew excellence when they saw fit to hire Haru after all. This would be his second match in the league now, and no doubt did he plan to make the best of this opportunity to show off against this 'John Mitchell' guy they decided would be a good match for him.

Haru would be the second combatant to take to the ring that evening, and Haru watched from backstage as the debuting guy made his mark. Camou and work boots, eh? Military aesthetic if he had to guess what the aim of the look was supposed to be. It made him wonder if the guy had any actual background in it or was just playing at the look of the rugged soldier? Haru was just itching to find out what he was made of and he knew exactly how he might investigate.

The next thing he knows he's facing off against John in the ring, one 6 foot man to another, in the familiar macho bravado of the pre-match ritual. "So are you actually any good?" he asks with a snicker, scratching the side of his arm as he saunters in closer. With no regard to personal boundaries Haru moves in till there's just a hair's breadth keeping them from bumping chests. He slinks his arm forward, jutting a finger through one of John's belt loops on his pants, and gives it a tug upwards. "'Cuz from where I'm standing, it looks like they got a little boy to play dress-up as a soldier" he taunts, looking straight at John's face for a reaction.  He then releases the belt loop and takes a step back with hands on his hips. "Feel free to take that the wrong way, that's how it was meant" he adds just for good measure.

John smirked as the blue-haired fighter closed in with him. His arms tensed and he raised an eyebrow Mr. Spock style. He pressed forward, letting his chest gently bump against Haru’s. He expected this, especially from heels and cocky fighters which Haru might be given his body language. He was used to the show of force, with each jostling for dominance before the match…but when the trash talk started, it wasn’t what John expected.

John very quickly glanced down at his trousers for just a second. They WERE militaristic. True, they were obviously civilian clothes. The camouflage pattern was very, very loosely based on the old 90s BDU style. The manufacturer’s logo was sewn into the pattern, and they obviously weren’t authentic. But he’d picked it, nevertheless. Now that he thought about it, it DID seem almost like a mocking parody of a soldier. But he’d not thought about his attire too much before this.

The split second he spent time thinking on this caused John to delay. He tried to snatch Haru’s hand off his belt loop, but the cocky blue boy had quickly pulled away. “Sailor, actually…I just thought green looked good on me, brings out my eyes.” He said with a wink. He was playing up the flirting, but Haru had quickly rubbed him the wrong way with the nasty attitude.

“So, you here to be the fashion police, or can you actually fight? Why don’t you quit running your mouth and do something interesting?”

With that, John stepped back and got his fists up in a very well-practiced guard. He circled Haru a little bit, and after a moment for Haru to reply, the bell suddenly rang to start the fight!

Haru grins as he seems to slightly fluster his to-be opponent, or at the very least started worming under his skin. Not a whole lot of time for John to retaliate before the bell rung, he barely got his retort out before it was time for fisticuffs. Haru brings his fists up into a classic boxing stance as he starts to circle the redhead.

"Lucky for you, I can do both, I'm talented that way" he grins as he starts to close in. He tests John's reflexes and reach by sending a few jabs at the upper and lower corners of John's guard. Anyone with moderate experience in boxing ought to be able to handle these no problem, which he figured would also let him know if there was a chance John was being truthful about his past. His ringwear was already ugly as sin, but it's not like Haru could really claim superiority in that regard, some of the things marketing had convinced him to wear....

In any case, Haru turns up the heat as he suddenly breaks from the boxing and opens up with a direct high-kick aimed at the side of the man's head.

“God, people say I’m a talker…” John rolled his eyes as the fight got under way, letting out a frustrated breath from his nose. None of that stopped John from paying attention to his enemy’s movements, though. He expertly dodged the first jab, then he blocked the next one. It was textbook stuff, and John had the distinct impression that he was being toyed with.

“Come oooon, don’t dick around…WOAH!” The dicking around promptly stopped as Haru shifted position and swing an impressive high kick. They were so close that Haru had to back away, giving John an inkling of what was coming, but it was still VERY close. Haru’s shoe nearly nailed the top of John’s head as he ducked under the kick. It was an impressively high one. But John wasn’t going to let him get away with that so early on. His training kicked in fast, and as soon as he got his head back up he tried to fire a quick snap kick to the shin of Haru’s stabilizing leg, then move in to aim an uppercut into Haru’s gut!

John responded well to Haru's opening moves, dodging and blocking where appropriate. He seems to get a bit frustrated with the low stakes beginner stuff, but then gets surprised by the high kick. Haru could practically feel the hair's breadth of space that his kick missed by, and that told him he could definitely make it work later once he had tired the redhead out. And that would be his first objective of the match.

John was going to make him work for that it seemed, he was able to fire a quick retaliatory kick to Haru's shin that made his leg clench and tense up on reflex. Now he's unable to retreat till he reels his leg back in, and there's an uppercut headed for his gut. Haru grunts and tenses his abs, accepting the fist into his gut that doesn't feel too great. Even still he refuses to back down from this position and he swings a retaliatory overhead smash, bringing both fists together and aiming to swing down the top of John's head and back.

John may have been taken by surprise for a moment, but now that he knew Haru was done crewing with him he got his head right back into the right. “Maybe if you didn’t talk you wouldn’t take a fist to the gut, Harry!” John said, deliberately mispronouncing his name. He wasn’t good at coming up with insults, so this was his best attempt at retaliatory trash talk.

Unfortunately for john, now it was HIS turn to pay for talking. That fist slammed into John’s back, and John let out a gasp of pain as he collapsed forward into Haru. Grunting, John tried to use this, but he was sloppy from the impact. He tried to slip his hands around Haru’s body and lift him up, trying to either tackle him to the ground or press him into a corner—whatever he could scrape away with.

'Harry'. Was this redhead deaf, or just an idiot? Haru was glad that his fist knocked into John's torso, it'd be the first of many lessons he intend to teach the man. John collapses into Haru's waist pretty pathetically, Haru can't help but laugh at him. Collapsing after just a minor hit? Maybe this would be easier than he was expecting.

And also perhaps maybe not. John was quick to go on the offense as he wrapped arounds behind Haru and tried to lift him. Haru grits his teeth as he shoves down at John's arms, trying to keep his feet on the mat so that he can't be taken down. This turns into a scuffle where John keeps trying to lift him and Haru keeps skirting the attempt until they run into a turnbuckle where Haru's escape routes are cut off, but he also can't be tripped up. Haru hooks one arm over the top rope to keep himself stable and the other grabs John's hair, yanking his head up to try and pull him away. He has a knee waiting to slam forward into the man's jaw if he can make that space happen

Actually, falling forward was all part of his plan! (it was not all part of his plan). In any event, John successfully grappled with his opponent, but he just couldn’t nail the tackle he was going for. Instead he settled for bullying Haru into the corner. He managed to trap Haru, but as he went to capitalize with a knee to his gut, he found Haru grabbing for his hair and pulling him off! “AGH! What, you jealous of my hair, Harry? Get OFF it!”

John’s eyes went wide as the knee connected, but it was hardly an ideal position for Haru. John’s head was already stretched back, and he was straining against the hair hold and trying to work his head free. The knee hit home, but John kept his ground and tried to shake off it’s effects. Growling, he tried to retaliate with a solid hook for Haru’s jaw, then a lower hook for Haru’s right rib. He was hoping the advantageous corner position would give him the edge here.

Jealous of the firecrotch? Not a chance! He'd have his hair permanently died if he was always fire engine red. His knee clocks into John's chin and Haru grins, not bad but not as good as he wished. He was already reeling his leg back into to quickly prepare another strike when John rises up quickly with a punch. Haru jerks his head to the side quickly catching only a glancing blow, but the following hit to his rib in the temporary blind spot earned a grunt of complaint from him.

Now John was on his feet and he was trapped, or at least that's what John was thinking. Haru preferred to think of it as an opportunity. There was no erotic victory condition, but that didn't mean he couldn't use erotic moves, especially if the ref couldn't see. Haru thrusts his knee up between John's legs, grinding his shaft and balls to distract. He was hoping that John would look down because then he would have an easier time grabbing his head and pulling him into a side headlock. He'd then try and kick off from the turnbuckle to force his opponent back and then Haru would be free!

John expected many things, but a teasing knee grope wasn’t one of them. He could have reacted in a lot of different ways to feeling a knee rubbing against his cock and balls. He could have freaked out. He could have gotten enraged. He could have gotten embarrassed.

Instead, he smirked.

He didn’t look down the way Haru hoped. Instead, he pressed his body closer into Haru’s. “Heh…feel something you like?” He said as he pressed in, trying to reach out and wrap his arms around Haru. It seemed like he was trying to get him in a bearhug, but it was at this moment that the blue boy suddenly tried to grab for John’s head, causing John’s grip to slip as he yelped and darted to avoid the headlock. He jumped back instinctively, then he frowned. “Hey! Don’t flirt unless your serious about it, Harry!” John said with a smirk as he got his guard back up.

Haru didn't quite expect John to react so positively to his little distraction technique, this definitely changed his mind about how to keep approaching the guy. John presses closer to him and that makes Haru's attempt to grab him into a side headlock even easier. The soldier boy's reflexes alerted him to the plan though, and John disengages completely. Haru doesn't have to kick off to escape the corner now, which frees him up to push for offense.

"Don't be disappointed, there will be plenty of time for me to plow your loser ass after the fight!" Haru shouts at him as he comes in hot and swinging. Jab-Jab-low jab he fires off at John's left side and flank as he makes use of his boxing experience, and he finishes this little combo with a high kick aimed at the right temple!
